This 3-hour course fulfills the requirement for license renewal in the state of Florida as required in the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 64B46.0046 for Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Mental Health Counselors. This course provides a review of Chapters 491, 456 and Rule Title 64B4, FAC.
Dr. Martha Gonzalez Marquez has been licensed in the state of Florida as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 1993. She is the director of doctoral programs in the Department of Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University and is the lead instructor for the graduate course in professional, ethical, and legal issues in MFT. Dr.Marquez has been presenting around the state on the topic of legal, ethical, and risk management issues in therapy for over 10 years. Her scholarship and professional presentations also includetopics associated with cultural diversity, powerand privilege, supervision, and couples therapy. Dr. Marquez has held numerous prestigiouspositions in the Association for Marriage andFamily Therapy Regulatory Board (AMFTRB)and the Commission on Accreditation forMarriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) where she served as commissionerand standards review committee member. On a more local level, Dr. Marquez was also an Associate at the Gainesville Family Institute and Faculty in their Center for Couple and Family Development from 1993-2000. She has remained clinically active since then and currently runs her own private practice in Weston, FL where she resides.
