Upcoming Workshop: Integrating EMDR Into Couples and Family Therapy: How Do They Fit Together?

Our next workshop is entitled:  “Integrating EMDR Into Couples and Family Therapy:  How Do They Fit Together?”.  The presenter will be Regina D. Morrow, LMFT, LMHC.

Objectives

1. Define what EMDR treats; what are unprocessed disturbing life experiences?
2. Briefly describe how the neurobiology of traumatic events suggests treatment interventions need to vary
3. Explore EMDR protocols for application to couples and families
4. Define how and when it can be applied to multiple people at once or separately

Presenter

I am a UF Counselor Ed grad, 1987. My first post graduate job opportunity was for a large HMO in Orlando for 16 years where we could “treat it all”. EMDR entered my life out of necessity in 1995. I had a majority of the tough cases in our large group practice. I became an EMDR Facilitator and Consultant in 2000 and a Trainer in 2008. I opened my own practice, Windermere Counseling, in 2001. I have been studying Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples since 2004 and the Gottman Method since 2016. I know trauma and loss both as a trauma therapist and a survivor of suicide. I lost both my brother in law (2000) and husband (2011) to suicide. EMDR has been a significant part of my healing journey.
